A Hot Day for Chili!

The day was perfect for New England. 80 degrees and plenty of sunshine! The competitors from all over the Northeast came out to share their family recipes with the thousands of people who attended to help out the Somers Fire Department and the Patriot Guard Riders.

The event was sizzling success! This could only be accomplished by the hard work of event organizer Michael Freedman who started soliciting competitors before the 2009 competition finished. He travels the chili competition circuit and sells the benefits to the contest's fine sponsors, two of which are The Connecticut Cruise News and Haymond Law Firm.
