What can you expect from mother nature in mid November? Surely not what we experienced for The Renegade Pig's Annual Turkey Run. Participants enjoyed sixty degrees and partly sunny skies and hundreds of bikes came out to Meriden to take part in the charity run. It was a festive occasion for all involved.

This Charity run is a little different than any other I've seen. The participants bring turkeys, apples and potatoes and fill boxes. The boxes are then loaded into the truck and the bikes escort the truck to different food kitchens and shelters. After the last stop the riders return to the American Legion Hall for a nice meal and a memorable after party.
As a member of the motorcycle community, It never ceases to amaze me how generous biker s are. In these economic times grass root efforts like this become more important. And this was no nonsense. The Renegade pigs collected food and put it directly in the hands of those who could provide Thanksgiving meals for those who've fallen on hard times. It was as direct a charity effort as any I've ever seen.

I left with a good feeling. I had visited the Cookie Platoon's holiday packing earlier in the day and later, to see the semi's trailer fill with the generosity of the motorcyclists, knowing that my Law Firm had a part in all this, it was hard not to. I brought Dex so there's photos; here and on HaymondLaw.com
